Govt. Shaheed Suhrawardy College is a Government College Affiliated with Dhaka University. It is situated in Laxmibazar, Old Dhaka.
It was established on 11 November 1949. At first, it was started on 5/1 Nalgala Jumman Bepary Lane. It was named Kayed-e-Azam College on the name of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. After the Independence War in 1972, it was named Shaheed Suhrawardy College on the name of The great Hosen Shaheed Suhrawardy. In 1984 it was turned into Government College and Named Govt. Shaheed Suhrawardy College. It was Affiliated with the University of Dhaka on the date of 16 November 2017.
