Preliminary Exam

After applying online, the first 20,000 applicants to participate in the preliminary examination based on the results of the Maths, Physics, and Chemistry subjects of the higher secondary examination. The examination will be held in Multiple Choice/MCQ mode of total 100 marks and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. BUET Admission Notification 2024 has detailed mention.

Preliminary Examination Subjects and Syllabus

Final Examination (Written)

Based on the results of the preliminary examination mentioned in the BUET admission circular 2024, the first 6000 candidates will be able to participate in the final admission examination. There are no MCQ questions in the Main Entrance Test and all the questions will be in written mode.

Application Requirements

• SSC: Applicant must have passed with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on a scale of 5.00 in grade system from any Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education/Madrasa Education Board/Technical Education Board of Bangladesh.
• HSC: Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary/Alim/equivalent examination from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/Madrasa Education Board/Technical Education Board of Bangladesh with 270 out of 300 marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent examination from foreign Board of Education at least. Must pass with an equivalent grade.
• However, it is mentioned in the BUET Admission Circular 2024 that the first 2,000 applicants will be allowed to participate in the preliminary admission test.

 

বিশেষ দ্রষ্টব্য 

• All the questions and evaluation of each subject of Module A and Module B in the Main Entrance Test will be conducted in the conventional manner.
• Each question in Module A carries 10 marks. Each question on freehand drawing of Module B is worth 70, each question on Visual and Spatial Ability is worth 10.
• Only pens, pencils, sharpeners, sharpeners and calculators approved as per Appendix-A can be used during the admission test.
• Any kind of electronic and telecommunication device including mobile phone and watch phone, geometry box, pencil box, scale, set-square, compass and any kind of bag cannot be brought into the examination room.
• Sample questions for all subjects are available on the university website.
